Overview: We took a shorter trip this year due to Garrett getting married (see link on Garrett's Page). We wanted to stay close to Tampa Florida so that Garrett could ride with us and still be home on time for his wedding. Originally the plan was for Garrett to join us on the ride. That evolved into the possibility of Garrett riding a day or two with us. By the time it was all said and done, though, Garrett couldn't make any riding at all. This was also another first for us as a group: Carrie came along. In previous lives this has been a "boys only" trip. Not necessarily that we don't like or don't want girls, just that there weren't any who would actually enjoy the riding and who wouldn't seriously upset the dynamic of the week. This trip is about motorcycle riding, plain and simple. We may throw in a movie or may hit a few cool places to eat, but this is not about anything else. Carrie SEEMED to really enjoy herself and we'll have to see if in future years she wants to come along or not. We rode all through Ocala and surrounding areas. Not "world class, best of the best" riding but probably some of the best roads in Florida. All in all it was a good time, everyone got along really well and with minimum distraction. Lots of laughs, good roads, good food, good friends and good times. |
