Christmas Day

Introduction - Christmas 2008 was the first one in 10 years that I spent effectively with no family.  Tonya and I had been separated for 6 months, Garrett was on his way back for tour #3 in Iraq.  Carrie and I had just met and she had plans for a Christmas vacation in Las Vegas long before she knew my name.  I had terrific housemates - Curtis, Marylynne and Cheryl but they all have their own lives and I was not going to interlope on their family events.  Nope, this is my life and I have to live it on my own.

I thought about it and realized that I had a very unique opportunity.  Most people really and truly NEVER have the opportunity to be completely alone, with time and ability to sort out their feelings and really decide their future plans.

I contacted a few friends to see if anyone wanted to join me for parts of the ride.  Lou (you're awesome man, always love riding with you . .) from Tampa put me up for a night, then he and I lit off together as the pics will show.

Also, an epic, larger than life, oh my god thank you to Bill Maloney.  Bill - you have seen me now through TWO divorces.  I owe you big time for not only your emotional support but also for what basically turned into a ride sponsorship.  I couldn't have done it without you - at least not without having my house foreclosed on.

Thanks too go out to JC / Sharyn & Amber - thanks guys, for not letting me spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day alone.
